Big Basin Redwoods State Park (Day 3)

On our 3rd day (which was the last day with my brother), we drove north from Monterey Bay and visited Big Basin Redwoods State Park. It was established in 1902 and is California's oldest states park. These photos do not do these amazing trees justice, and I couldn't believe how many "bad" photos I took! I guess I should have read some tips about how to photograph these magnificant giants! So, I think for this post I'll just mainly share some of the better photos.

(Photo from inside a burned out tree.)
(I think this was called the "Daddy" of the trees in this forest, as he was the largest.)

Often, I think I rush through things too quickly. But, we honestly just took this little path and enjoyed being in God's amazing creation.

An unforgettable day!

  2. Such wonderful views of these giants! That little trail would have been too tempting for me. I love taking unknown paths just to see where they take me.

  3. I wouldn't know how to photograph them, but I think you did a great job!
So ginormous! Bruce is just dying to go see them some day. He talks about it often.
    Thanks for sharing.
